The pain is not as acute as, say a broken limb, and the effects of poor health choices do not manifest right away. But we know. We know that "not feeling bad" is a far cry from "feeling great". We know that symptoms of type 2 diabetes, depression, and seasonal affective disorder can be alleviated by exercise. And we know that we have to put good things into our bodies to keep them functioning properly.

Marvellous Micronutrients: Vitamin A
Vitamin A’s role in the body is to support proper immune function and wound healing.
At times of increased energy demands - such as illness, increased training, or injury rehabilitation - Vitamin A can speed your recovery!
Find it in red, orange, and yellow fruits and veggies, such as carrots, yams, mangoes, tomatoes, and winter squash!
Exercise and Hydration
Pre-hydration ensures that you start any physical activity well hydrated. Try drinking 500ml of water about 30 minutes before exercise.
Recipe: Joel’s Protein Pancakes
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 cups pumpkin pie filling OR 1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree plus 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Fry over medium heat until bubbles form and start to pop. Flip pancakes and heat until cooked through and nicely browned.
